Stampin' with Atty-tude:

I wasn't looking for a new love...

Hi all,

So you know that 80's song by Jody Watley..."I'm looking for a new love, baby, a new love...yeah, yeah, yeah..." Well, I wasn't looking for a new love but, I think I found one, in Stampin' Up's My Digital Studio. 

I've always loved scrapbooking. All the elements pull together into a perfect layout which preserve a special memory. When I first heard about digital papercrafting craze, I thought it just wouldn't feel as satisfying. 

But, in the two weeks I've had to play with MDS I've discovered...it's just as fun & challenging, maybe even a tiny bit more!! It's a bit faster & you can do it on your laptop while watching TV ;)

So, without further ado...here's what I created tonight:

I have also completed a whole series of pages for Quintin's Birthday but, want to share them when the whole album is completed.

I'm enjoying a fun night of crafting at my LSS and decided I wasn't ready to pull photos out. So, here is a Christmas card I just finished.

It's a Monday...

Good Monday morning to you all!

This week's going pretty well although a bit chilly. It's gone from hot to cold almost over night. I've created a few things over the weekend and I'll share two with you today...

#1 is a Treat for the lovely girls I'll be seeing soon at Tracy's Give Me Time Retreat. They brought big smiles last time I created them and hope the next group will enjoy a little sweet treat, too. I had to keep them pretty simple since I was making 40. 

First, I stamped the Halloween image in Rich Razzleberry from the Sweat Centers stamp set (from the Holiday Mini Catty) on Very Vanilla Carstock. Then I used the new 1 3/4" circle punch to create the whole for the Sweet Treat Cups. I used a bit of SU's glue stick and the adhesive on the cup to adhere it to the Old Olive 3" square. 

Next I created a CAS card for a dear friend's bday yesterday. Here's a little sweet for a very sweet lady.

Cardstock: Melon Mambo, Whisper White, Rich Razzleberry, Tempting Turquoise & Basic Grey. 

Ink: Black StayzOn & Stampin' Up's markers. 

Happy Birthday phrase from On Your Birthday stamp set. 

Mandy in and sentiment on Rich Razzleberry cardstock, which I then punched out using the Modern Label punch.

Well hello ladies,

I've been working on some Christmas cards for a couple of weeks but, having the hardest time making a final decision on some of the elements. Why do some cards come together instantly and others take forever! Ugh! I'm sure it'll be great...

In the meantime, I have a new item to show you. My friend Ginger's hubby's birthday was last week and here is the card I made him. I hope you can tell from my crude drawing that he's a big New England Patriot's fan. I put it on the beer cooler from Beerfella stamp.

Here's another sample I designed to share at my recent workshop. Hope you enjoy it's simplicity. It was very easy and yet it's a real favorite of mine. I love square cards!

First, I used the Stampin' Up-Sizzix Scalloped Square and cut it just below the score line to create a Square card out of the Dusty Durango Cardstock. Then I used the Lattice Bigz Die to cut a Razzleberry piece to pop on top of the Razzleberry Lemonade DSP. Easy peasy! I stamped the butterfly from Simple Friendship (pg 105 of the SU Idea Book) in Crushed Curry and used the Dusty Durango marker to accent his body and antennae, stamped on Whisper White and cut out. Then we used the 2 way Glue pen to cover the butterfly and then dipped it in Dazzling Diamonds. Popped it on the bow using a dimensional. Inside, we stamped the True Friendship sentiment "A true friend reaches for your hand and touches your heart."

WOW...has it really been two months?!?!

I don't know where that time has gone. I swear I have stamped and thought I'd posted them but, obviously not. Sorry it's been so long. Hope you've been as busy and I have and not noticed...

Here are two of the cards I made for today's workshop...Thanks for hosting Heather!! Had a blast, as always!

The first creation I'm sharing today was inspired by Susan Roberts flower and Peggy Finney's beautiful faux lace on her Good Friend card. Susan used the Ornament Punch in an inventive way to create a flower base which I added Peggy's Eyelet Border Punch to create "lace."

I really like the idea of Whisper White Cardstock mixed with Glossy White Cardstock. I know it's hard to see in this photo (sorry.) The sheen of the Glossy Cardstock mixed w/the shine of the Snowfall Window Sheet. I edged the Window Sheet using the Craft White Ink

Waves of Lavendar on a bright Banana day

Hi all
I stayed up last night, determined to make something. This is what I came up with for SCS's Color Challenge 227. I'm not in love with the card but, sure love this darling little surfer dude from Imaginesce.

I used the negative space from the Scrolly Scribbles Sizzixlit die from Stampin' Up's catty to create the 'waves'.

Finished it off with some retired black velvet ribbon & two joined sayings from SU's new Tiny messages set & punch.
I'm away from my catty and supplies but, will fill in the details later. I hope u got some stampin' time today!

Prize Patrol & Deal of the week...

Well, I've heard of Spring Cleaning but, today turned out to be my Summer cleaning. Cleaned out a few drawers, shelves, under the sink, etc. in the kitchen. It was hard to give up the first day I had set aside for some stampin' but, felt like it really needed a little TLC around here.

Happy Birthday Emily

Hi Stampers,
I know I've introduced you to Abigail, my darling Goddaughter but, today I wanted to send an early bday greeting to her big sister Emily. I've been lucky enough to watch her grow up for the last 11 years. I met her mom when she was only a few weeks old and we were instantly bonded. Our kids are so cute together because for my kids these are like cousins, since ours live unfortunately so far away. It warms my heart to see how my son & Emily can hang out still after all these years, despite all the boy/girl cooties, etc. They are good buddies. Anyway...Em's bday is in two days and I wanna mail this today, so I spent my morning making this little card to wish her a happy birthday.

I was inspired by the IC188 challenge on SCS...to use the adorable site Chasing Fireflies as inspiration. So much to choose from but, I've been itching to use this darling Mermaid from A*muse Art Stamps.

Inked up the mermaid using the markers (Soft Suede, Blush Blossom, Melon Mambo, Green Galore.) Went over her tail and the Melon parts w/a Pink & Green Spica pen. Then stamped her again to cut out the flower and seashell bra.

Then I used a scrap of Stampin' Up's retired Groovy Guava and the new Soft Suede classic in w/A*muse's polka dot frame. Trimmed it, dotted it w/Chocolate Spica pen & White Gel Pen. Added a scrap of Soft Suede cardstock to create her island perch. Distressed it w/in an inch of falling a part to make it look like a real rock.

I trimmed the notecard down to 4" square, ran both sides through the Big Shot using the QuicKutz Polka Dots Embossing Folder. I love these random polka dots! Just found them at one of my favorite local scrapbook & paper supply stores....ScrapLovers. If you're nearby, please stop into this little gem. If not, you can easily shop online and get into lots of trouble (only the fun kind that keeps you up late at night, stampin' the night away!) Also, used the fun bubbles from the Circle Circus Stamp set to help create the ocean look.

Hope our little Emily enjoys this little treat, along w/some stampin' goodies, since she's a recent stampin' convert. She made me the most beautiful card a while back. I'll have to post it!

Christmas & Flowers in July

Hi all!

I found my way back into the craft room!! It was so fun! Unfortunately, our camera is broken. Please forgive me for having to use my iPhone's camera to take these. I tried outside, inside, etc and this is the best I could capture.

I was inspired to pull out a Christmas idea for the SCS Christmas in July challenge.

Next is my Lovely Flowers Card. I tried to let the new In Colors "speak to me" because I've been a bit reluctant to some of them but, I really enjoyed diving into these new colors and LOVING having the markers for the In Colors!

 

Again...sorry the colors aren't so great in this shot. It's sooo much prettier IRL (in real life, for those who don't know.) 

I colored the flowers w/Regal Rose and then outlined w/Rich Razzleberry Marker.
